About Lil Shawn

Shawn Michael Cannon Jr. Lovingly known as Lil’ Shawn, was the sweetest boy- born on February 12, 2015 to proud parents Shawn and Erika Cannon and the most excited 3 big sisters.

From day one, his smile was contagious, and he brought a smile to everyone’s face. His quick wit and energy lit up any room that he entered; from the Walmart greeters to the Costco receipt checkers, Lil’ Shawn charmed them all! His laugh was infectious, and he always told the best jokes (especially “knock-knock” jokes). He loved spaghetti (at least two bowls) but if you asked him what he wanted for dinner, he would request a cheeseburger, with spread, tomato, ketchup only from his favorite place In- N-Out Burger. He loved all superheroes; from his baby shower theme of Superman to his Batman costumes at breakfast, and more recent his “into the Spider-Verse” themed room.

There was nothing that Lil’ Shawn could not do! In the last two years he played both T-Ball (2021) and, most recently, Minor B baseball for Delta Sunrise Little League (2022). He was most famous for dancing at third base and was always ready to help his team. When he was not playing ball, he loved watching his sisters play softball while even cheering for the opposing team. He was an avid bowler with a high game of 106! And his most recent accomplishment… completing the first grade at Podesta Ranch Elementary School and promoting to second grade! The sky was no limit for Lil’ Shawn. That boy lived! He was intentional with his kindness, gentle and mindful with his words, and he made connections wherever he went. Lil’ Shawn was beyond his years with his thoughtfulness and his expression of love for his family.

Lil’ Shawn has left us a gift and it is now our goal and purpose to share his story with the world. He will always be with us! Let us all live for Lil’ Shawn! #Living4LilShawn
